On 16th January this year, my grandson, Aidan was born with a bi-lateral cleft lip and palate. Thanks to the wonderful surgeons at Queens Medical Centre you can hardly tell and he is healing beautifully. My daughter, Nicola and her partner, Jonny are doing a 12 hour sponsored silence on August 14th in aid of the charity 'Operation Smile'. This charity gives free cleft surgery to children in the third world who otherwise wouldn't get help and would go through life with the deformity.
