HAPPY BUNNY

I did a bit of stamping and inking again the other day with my stamps that arrived from Graphicus. I haven't actually done anything with the pieces yet, but I'm sure I'll get round to it. The coloured one was distress inked and layered and I'm thinking of using this on a cover of a book. Last time I used grungeboard, but this time I used the Ultra Smooth white card from Graphicus. Oh, boy. It's fabulous card and I think it would be perfect for use with Prisma pencils and sansodor. I'm waiting for some pencils, so I'll let you know when I know. The one with the green centre, I dropped a bit of Diamond Glaze on and then those tiny Art Accentz beads.
Now, the 'Friends are a Gift' one is one of the new Inkadinkadoo Personal Impressions stamps. The centre words and the frame are separate so you can mix and match them and cut and layer them too. They appear to be like gold dust in the UK, everybody is out of stock of them and I've only been able to get this one, hence my disappointment of last week.

But, today, I'm a happy bunny. I won an auction on ebay last night. Well, this morning technically as I sat up until it finished at 2.14a.m. The auction was for 15 sets of these stamps. That's a UK retail price of about £75 and I got them for £25. I'm well chuffed. Just wondering how long they'll take to get here from the US now.

As a little aside and changing the subject, I took my granddaughter to Horncastle yesterday to see the ducks. I'm not really an outing kinda person but I so enjoyed myself with her. Mia absolutley loved them and kept shouting quack quack at them. Nothing different from other kiddies, I know, but it was my first visit to the ducks with her and it was lovely.

I also made another necklace yesterday. This time using Black Banded Agate. I had a bit of trouble with this one as for some reason I just couldn't get my wire loops right, but still, it came together in the end. It's a lovely stone and has some really beautiful markings on it.

A BIT MIFFED...

I've been waiting a week for some new rubber stamps and my parcel arrived today. I was all excited about having something new to play with but when I opened my parcel, they were out of stock of some of them. It was more disappointing because they were out of stock of the ones I particularly wanted and this is after having been told on the phone last Monday, after I placed my order, that they were in stock.

I sometimes think that us 'grown ups' have a serious problem. Fancy getting so disappointed over something like not getting a rubber stamp, lol.

Anyway, I made a necklace instead. The stone is fluorite, it's a very pretty stone but sometimes it's difficult to know what to put with it. So...I decided not to put anything with it and just use purely fluorite in 4 different shapes.

MORE PLAYTIME!

It's been a few days since I blogged again, but I've been busy, busy. I decided some time ago that I didn't like my jewellery website so I've spent most of the week updating it. I've changed the design and layout slightly and am much happier with it now. A nice fresh face. I've also got a few more bits of jewellery made and have some more in progress.

I took my granddaughter shopping the other day, as I thought I'd buy her a new pair of shoes. OMG!!!!! her little feet are only about 3 inches long and what a price those shoes are. £26 'eek!', but, they are soooooooo cute. I couldn't resist buying her one of the all singing all dancing Baby Annabell dolls too, so a fairly expensive afternoon, but hey ho! I loved it.

So, not a lot of money left for stash, but I am waiting for some new stamps from Graphicus. One set so I'm better able to do the technique I showed you last week and another set of gorgeous greeting stamps with interchangeable outer frames. I'm still playing with the glimmer inks, but not getting on very well. I really don't think they're my cup of tea at all, and I should have known this, 'cause I'm not into sparkly at all really. The colours look so vibrant in the bottles but are actually very pale (insipid some of them) so I doubt I'll get much use from them.

Right now, I have some jigsaw pieces to scan in for a jiggy topper swap done over at Canny Crafters and as swap host, I've to get them all in the post tomorrow so I better go and get cracking.

INKY FINGERS

I saw this wonderful project by Lynn Robinson-Hunter using Tim Holtz grungeboard and distress inks. I thought it was so bright and yet 'earthy' so I had a go. I was a little impatient and didn't wait for my card to dry (all spritzed with water) so my stamping is a little off, but never mind, you get the idea. I got (and so did my table) very messy and had very inky fingers, but it's a great technique.

I have also got some of the new Glimmer Mists. Mica particles in coloured liquid that you spray over your card/paper. Now, I really don't know why I wasted my money on them. They're £30 for a set of 6 bottles and you can get just the same effect using your Twinkling H2O's. Still, they're pretty colours, easy to use and they blend well. I made this very simple card with them, just to test out the blending.

I popped to the park for a little while this morning with my DD and GD. GD loved the slide and also fell in love with a lunch box belonging to a little boy. When he left to go back to school, she followed them all the way to the gate crying for the lunch box, lol. Hissy fit or what!!!!! Spoiled madam, no doubt she'll have her own lunch box before very long.

NEAT FREAK

I've done a LO of my granddaughter and this one is a bit different for me. It's ALL paper. No ribbons, brads, eyelets or anything. I even used letter stickers for the title, which I NEVER do. The papers are Basic Grey 'Blush' and I cut the embellies from 'Infuse'.

Mia is 13 months old now, and just loves cleaning. She has her own dishcloth (well washed) and cleans everything in sight, including the dog sometimes, lol.

WRIST SLAPPING..

Ooooeerrrr!!!! I've had my wrist slapped for not updating my blog, so I thought I'd just write a little bit. I've been so busy I haven't had time for this. I've not got to visit my fave jewellery forum, UK Beaders properly either, and I'm sure there's loads of lovely creations on there I've missed.

So what have I been up to? Well, I've done some scrapbooking, done some photography and I've even made a couple of cards. I have got some jewellery made for commissions too. I'm in the process of writing an article for the Polymer Cafe magazine on making a Mica Shift pendant and as it's going into print, I have to get it right, so that's taking a little time.

I've also set up a brand new craft forum. Our old one had so much down time, we were all thoroughly peed off with it, so I thought we could do with something better and that's taken quite a chunk of time too recently.

In between my crafting stuff, I've also done the normal boring everyday stuff that none of us want to do, but have no choice.

Anyway, I'll show you a couple of my pics. Nothing exciting as I think this time of year any of us with a camera shoot butterflies on buddleia bushes, but hey ho! they're pretty enough aren't they?
